The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Kano Operations Office, facilitated the reception of 147 Nigerian returnees who arrived from Agadez, Niger Republic. The returnees landed at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) at 12:48 p.m. on June 16, 2025.
The repatriation was coordinated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in collaboration with relevant stakeholders involved in migrant support and reintegration.
Breakdown of Returnees:
Adult Males: 143
Male Child: 1
Adult Female: 1
Female Children: 2
On arrival, the returnees were taken to Badala Hotel for profiling and documentation, which took place on June 17, 2025.
One individual was reported ill and received appropriate medical attention from the Red Cross.
